Introduction

SEO is something you can’t avoid if you run websites such as blogs and media.

This post introduces Google Search Console, an essential tool for SEO analysis.

About SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.

This means search engine optimization in Japanese.

In simple terms, it refers to the act of putting your company or your site higher on the search screen.

Being at the top of the search page is as visible to many as opening a store on a busy main street. Search is a very important area because it acts as a search in and of itself, increasing the likelihood that people who are more interested will visit your site.

How much does it change depending on the rank?

There are a lot of reasons why the higher you rank in SEO, the better.

The click rate (= CTR) is as different as the sky and the earth.

Generally, it is said that the CTR of the 1st search is from 70% to 30%.

On the other hand, even if it is the same page 1, if it is ranked 10th in search, CTR will drop to around 1%.

On the second page, there is a much tougher battle.

In other words, in order to increase the probability of being chosen, the highest priority is to raise the ranking.

How can we improve our rankings?

Then, how can we improve the ranking?

It’s difficult to generalize because there are many sites and complicated elements such as Google algorithm are intertwined, but “Sites that follow Google’s algorithmic rules and have a lot of good content” can be said to rank easily.

About Google Search Console

Google Search Console is a search behavior analysis service provided by Google.

What You Can Do in the Search Console

Here’s a quick look at what you can do with the Search Console:.

The Search Console is divided into the following main categories:.

  • Search Performance
  • URL Validation
  • Coverage
  • Site Map
  • Mobile Usability
  • AMP
  • Security and Manual Response

Search Performance

With Google Search Console, you can see your site’s rankings, how many times it shows up on the search screen, how many clicks it has, and how many clicks it has.

You can also check the actual search terms (= Query).

You can see at a glance which keywords are ranked higher.

Search performance metrics

  • queries: keywords found in
  • pages: landing via search
  • Country: Where did the search come from?
  • devices: from which device
  • How it looks in search: How it looks in search

URL Validation

The URL check can check any URL of the site as its name suggests.

If you type any URL into the search window in the search console, the inspection results will be as follows.

If there is an abnormality in the examination

The test is not always going well.

Errors and warnings appear at a certain rate.

Don’t be impatient if there are errors or warnings. Check the details and take action.

The details describe the cause of the error or warning, and take action as instructed.

Coverage

Coverage allows you to see how well a site is indexed (Recognized by Google algorithm).

You can check the status and set of each page, such as enable (+ Warnings), error, and exclude.

Site Map

You can check the status of the site map submission.

A site map is a kind of site configuration information that a site sends to Google.

Submitting a site map properly is very important because it makes it easier for Google’s crawlers to correctly identify your site.

Mobile Usability

Here you can check the usability evaluation of your mobile site.

AMP

You can check the status of AMP support here.

AMP is an acronym for Accelerated Mobile Pages, a framework that Google recommends for making pages display faster on mobile devices.

Manual / Security Issues

This is an area that shows if there are any problems in the site.

It usually looks like this, but if it finds a problem, it will display a warning message.
